CCSCT Releases 2025 Annual Report

SOUTH CENTRAL, TEXAS — Community Council of South Central Texas (CCSCT) proudly announces the release of its 2025 Annual Report, showcasing a milestone year of service, resilience, and community impact across Greater South Central and West Texas. In 2025, CCSCT celebrated 60 years of empowering families and individuals to achieve self-sufficiency, while continuing to expand critical services that support housing stability, energy assistance, early childhood education, and nutrition programs.

The report highlights the organization’s ongoing mission to eliminate barriers for vulnerable households through innovative programs and strong community partnerships. CCSCT currently serves 31 counties across more than 54,000 square miles, making it one of the largest Community Action Agency service areas in Texas.

“This year was especially meaningful for CCSCT as we celebrated 60 years of helping families overcome hardship and build brighter futures,” said Bobby Deike, Executive Director of CCSCT. “Even in the face of disasters such as the devastating Hill Country floods, our staff and Community Action partners stepped forward to support families with compassion, dignity, and determination.”

2025 Community Impact Highlights

The 2025 Annual Report demonstrates the scale of CCSCT’s impact across the region:

• 10,546 individuals assisted through the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program
• 9,200 households received utility assistance through the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)
• 5,127 utility bills paid to help families maintain essential services
• 297 families received rental assistance, helping stabilize housing
• 213 veterans assisted through emergency financial assistance programs
• 81 homes weatherized, improving energy efficiency and lowering utility costs
• 125 children enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start programs supporting school readiness
• 33,732 WIC services provided to pregnant women, infants, and young children through nutrition education and food benefits

Responding to Crisis: Hill Country and Guadalupe County Flood Relief

In July 2025, CCSCT mobilized emergency response efforts following devastating flooding in the Hill Country and Guadalupe County areas. The agency provided rent and mortgage assistance, utility support, hotel stays, cleaning supplies, and HEB gift cards to help affected families begin rebuilding their lives. Community Action agencies from across Texas joined the effort, demonstrating the strength and unity of the statewide network.

Celebrating 60 Years of Community Action

To commemorate six decades of service, CCSCT hosted a “Hope in Action” community luncheon, honoring local heroes and partners who have helped advance the mission of Community Action. The milestone celebration included recognition from Texas Senator Donna Campbell and Congressman Henry Cuellar, highlighting CCSCT’s long-standing impact on communities throughout the region.
