CCSCT to Partner with Safer Path Family Violence Shelter

On Monday, Sept. 30, Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) presented a Transitional Housing Grant for $450,000 to Safer Path Family Violence Shelter at the Pleasanton Civic Center. This $450,000 grant is awarded through the Department of Justices’ Office of Violence Against Women Transitional Housing Grant Assistance Program. The primary purpose of the Transitional Housing Assistance Program is to provide aid to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking who are homeless or in need of transitional housing or other housing assistance, and for whom emergency shelter services or other crisis intervention services are unavailable or insufficient. Safer Path Family Violence Shelter will be partnering with Community Council of South Central Texas to assist these individuals by providing transitional housing services that move individuals into permanent housing
