CCSCT Welcomes Three New Certified Community Action Professionals, Adding to a Growing Legacy of Leadership and Service

South Central, Texas:  Three members of the CCSCT Leadership team have successfully earned their Certified Community Action Professional Designation, making them members of the second largest CCAP class since the late 1970’s, with over 100 recipients.

To accomplish the CCAP designation, individuals working in leadership positions in the field of Community Action must demonstrate mastery of Community Action Vision and Values, the History of Community Action, Management Skills, 21st Century Leadership and Addressing the Causes of Poverty. Grant Writer, Alma Adamez; Head Start Program Director, Julie Cantu; and Chief Financial Officer, Brittany Hensley; all successfully met the requirements and passed a rigorous exam and writing assignment to successfully complete the certification.

Alma Adamez is a 1976 graduate of Premont High School, a 1979 graduate of Texas A&M University-Kingsville and received her Master’s Degree in 1982 from Corpus Christi State University. Alma has served as the Grant Writer for CCSCT since 2016. Julie Cantu is a 1999 graduate of Seguin High School and a 2003 graduate of Texas State University. Julie has served as the Head Start Program Director since 2020, and previously served as the Child Care Services Program Director from 2015-2017. Brittany Hensley graduated from La Vernia High School in 2008 and later graduated from the University of Incarnate Word in 2018. She has served as CFO since late 2021.

With the new additions of Alma, Brittany, and Julie- Community Council of South Central Texas now houses 9 CCAP recipients including, Executive Director, Bobby Deike; HR Director, Kari Bell; CS Program Director, Carol Delgado; CS Assistant Program Director, Belinda Lacey; Marketing and Communications Manager, Daniela Flores; and one CCAP in Memoriam, Debra Martinez.
