Second Baptist Church Partners with CCSCT to Support Guadalupe Flood Relief

SEGUIN, TX – In response to recent flooding that impacted parts of Guadalupe County, Second Baptist Church in Seguin has generously donated $2,300 to Community Council of South Central Texas, a local non-profit, to support families in need.

Led by Interim Pastor Jessie Everline and a Spirit led Leadership Committee, the church launched a campaign rooted in compassion and unity.

“After much discussion and a desire to help people in need as a result of this flood condition we felt it necessary to request that the whole congregation contribute at least $2,000” said Joe L. Patterson Sr., the Head Deacon. “We are a small church, but we believed this was something we could accomplish- and we exceeded our goal.”

The funds were presented to CCSCT, a trusted organization that provides critical services including disaster relief, housing assistance, and more in support of vulnerable families across South Central and West Texas.

“We chose to partner with CCSCT to ensure our contribution reached the people truly in need” Patterson explained. “We see this as the beginning of a lasting relationship to support those facing hardship.”

Second Baptist Church recently became a 501c3 organization allowing the church to accept tax deductible donations to further its outreach.

Second Baptist Church Vision

We aspire to be a thriving, multigenerational and multiethnic family of faith that reflects

the love of Christ in our community and beyond.

We are committed to growing together in faith, worship, service, and fellowship —

empowered by prayer, united in love, and submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

The church hopes the donation provides real help and spiritual encouragement for families recovering from the recent floods.

“We are praying that our contributions are given to those in true need not just in Guadalupe County but wherever God leads us to help” Patterson added.

Community members who wish to support the church’s mission can send checks by mail or drop them off at the church:
