CCSCT Launches The 1965 Society: An Opportunity to Invest in a Legacy

New initiative invites businesses to support families across South Central and West Texas.

SEGUIN, TEXAS: For more than 60 years, Community Council of South Central Texas (CCSCT) has helped individuals and families across South Central and West Texas meet basic needs and build more stable lives. Now, the nonprofit is inviting businesses to become part of that legacy through The 1965 Society, a new business giving initiative designed to support its mission.

Created by CCSCT Development Director Janet Torres, The 1965 Society invites businesses to invest in a legacy of service that has strengthened South Central and West Texas communities for more than six decades. Through annual contributions, businesses can help CCSCT continue meeting local needs and supporting families on the path to greater stability and businesses receive benefits connecting them to greater community visibility, community standing, access and partnership with CCSCT.

“CCSCT was founded in 1965 with a commitment to helping people overcome challenges and build better lives,” said Bobby Deike, Executive Director of CCSCT. “That commitment has continued through more than six decades of change and growth. The 1965 Society gives businesses a meaningful way to stand with us and help carry this work forward.”

A Legacy of Helping People

Since its founding on May 11, 1965, CCSCT has served individuals and families across a 31-county region. Its programs help people facing challenges such as high utility bills, housing costs, and other barriers to financial stability.

Through The 1965 Society, businesses can provide ongoing support for this work and help CCSCT respond when families need assistance most.

Briggs Equipment is the first business to become a 1965 Society member, demonstrating its commitment to the communities it serves. The company recently contributed $2,000 to support CCSCT programs.

“Briggs Equipment New Braunfels is thrilled to support CCSCT and the meaningful resources they provide our fellow Texans in need,” said Steve Marshall, a Briggs Equipment representative and CCSCT supporter.

An Opportunity to Make a Lasting Impact

The 1965 Society offers four annual giving levels to fit different business budgets:

  • Heritage Partner: $200–$499
  • Legacy Partner: $500–$999
  • Cornerstone Partner: $1,000–$2,499
  • Patron: $2,500 or more

Businesses that contribute at their chosen level for two consecutive years during the founding period will receive permanent recognition as a Founding Member. The founding period closes December 31, 2027.

ERGOS Technology Partners is a Founding Member and Drew Rathburn, an ERGOS spokesperson said “A great business doesn’t just serve its clients — it invests in the community that surrounds them. The 1965 Society gave us the opportunity to do both. We’re honored to be a Founding Member of The 1965 Society.”

“The 1965 Society is about bringing businesses together around a shared belief that when families have the support they need, our entire region benefits,” said Torres. “We want businesses to be proud of the role they play in building stronger communities.”
