Texas Homeowner Assistance is here to help.
Texas Homeowner Assistance provides financial assistance to qualified Texas homeowners who have fallen behind on their mortgage, utility payments, and related expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Community Council of South Central Texas is a designated intake center to help those interested apply. CCSCT DOES NOT DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
This program gives eligible homeowners grants to cover past due mortgage payments (some homeowners may be eligible for up to three (3) months of future mortgage payments as well), delinquent property taxes, insurance, homeowner/condo association fees, past due utility payments, and up to three (3) months of prospective utility payments. Eligible utility payments include electricity, natural gas, propane, water, and wastewater.
FUNDING SOURCE:
The program is administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) with funding provided by the Homeowner Assistance Fund under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
HOW TO APPLY:
Call 1-844-887-9241 (Toll Free) to schedule an appointment at your local CCSCT intake center, M-F 8am-5pm.
EXAMPLES OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- Identification card, like a driver’s license
- Past due mortgage statement, property tax statement, insurance statement, and/or homeowner/condo association statement
- Proof of occupancy, like a utility bill
- Income documentation, like paystubs
