Self-Sufficiency Meeting with Employers

The Community Council of South Central Texas, Inc. (CCSCT) in partnership with Workforce Solutions Alamo, Alamo Colleges and Coastal Bend College is developing a Self-Sufficiency Fund Grant funded by the Texas Workforce Commission.

The Self Sufficiency Fund provides training grants for industry recognized certificates and credentials that lead to permanent full-time employment.

The Self Sufficiency Fund program assists adult recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, and individuals earning less than $37,000 annually with a dependent child (custodial or noncustodial) or an individual at risk of becoming dependent on public assistance.

CCSCT and Alamo Colleges will host a meeting for Employers in Advanced Technology/Manufacturing, Biotechnology/Life Sciences and Information/Computer Technology industries to provide an overview of the grant, determine training needs of Employers and seek Letters of Support from interested Employers. The meeting will be held at the Central Texas Technology Center (CTTC) on Monday March 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Bldg. B, Room 157.
